FARGO, N.D. – More than 20 information technology personnel from around the Forum Communications Co. network gathered here Tuesday afternoon to discuss common digital initiatives around the network and to chart the future development of IT needs for the company. The conference was scheduled to continue Wednesday morning at the Homewood Suites in Fargo.
On Tuesday, the IT personnel from one end of the network to the other, had a chance to discuss what technology upgrades were needed at their individual locations and listened to presentations about ongoing network digital initiatives.
Michelle VanDell from the Duluth Newspaper Group presnted FCC’s Google publishing initiative, walking the IT professionals through how the new publishing platform will affect editorial and IT folks across the network. Digital Product Development Manager Chris Welle updated the group on the deployment of FCC’s new CMS platform, Drupal. Jason Mitsche of FCC IT gave a demonstration regarding the Reuters wire service integration to the network. And finally, Stephen Frank and Devan Stoldorf reported back on the company’s new “Help Desk” initiative, which will serve as FCC’s new technology support platform.
The group was scheduled to continue Thursday morning discussing the company’s new Insert Management System, capital investments planning and other issues.
