FARGO, N.D. – Forum Communications Co. has announced the promotion of Jenny Porter to ad operations manager. Porter, formerly a sales automation specialist, now oversees a staff of 23 people involved in advertising services for the company’s entire network.
The staff, which includes members from FCC’s Creative Services and advertising staff members, plays an important role in advertising within the company. The staff is in charge of trafficking online ads throughout each property to ensure they are appearing on the appropriate websites. The staff also provides budgets and goal reporting to FCC advertising staffs and creates advertising automation initiatives, among other things.
FCC’s Vice President of Digital Paul Amundson said Porter was a great fit for the position.
“She is very business-minded,” Amundson said. “She knows what’s expected of her and she sets high standards for herself and others.”
Porter has embraced her new position with enthusiasm.
“It’s a challenge, but it’s exciting,” she said. “We’re excited to see what ‘Ad Ops’ can do to be the hub for creative services and advertising, to keep that business of advertising in the building.”
Porter, who has worked with the company for 14 years, started in the newsroom at The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead in 1999. She received a degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin Madison. After working in the newsroom she made the transition the IS Department, which eventually led her to her new position.
Forum Communications Co. is a multimedia information company based in Fargo, and owns dozens of newspapers, websites and television and radio stations, and commercial printing plants in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
