FARGO, N.D. – Forum Communications Co. knows that the value of loyal subscribers is measured in … platinum.
That’s right … platinum.
That’s why to reward its valued subscribers, Forum Communications Co. recently announced the creation of its “Platinum Rewards” program at nearly 20 of its newspaper sites in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
“Platinum Rewards is our way of thanking subscribers to The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, and other FCC newspapers, with special offers and incentives available only to our valued subscribers,” said Amy Ouren, circulation sales and marketing manager at The Forum. “As one of the most extensive reward programs in the industry, Platinum Rewards allows subscribers to begin selecting rewards immediately after registering with the program and validating their subscription.”
But, said Todd Holland of The Forum’s circulation department, what’s important is that the program is simple and offered absolutely free to any subscriber of The Forum, and other FCC newspapers, as a “thank you” for their loyalty.
In addtion to The Forum, other FCC newspapers offering Platinum Rewards are the West Fargo (N.D.) Pioneer; Detroit Lakes (Minn.) Tribune; Detroit Lakes (Minn.) Record; Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald; Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune; Superior (Wis.) Telegraph; Pine Journal of Cloquet, Minn.; Lakes County News-Chronicle in Two Harbors, Minn.; The Dickinson (N.D.) Press; The Daily Republic in Mitchell, S.D.; The Daily Globe in Worthington, Minn.; The Jamestown (N.D.) Sun; The Pioneer in Bemidji, Minn.; the West Central Tribune in Willmar, Minn.; and the Morris (Minn.) Sun Tribune.
In each of these markets, Forum Communications has arranged for its loyal subscribers to receive discounts or other incentives with valued local retailers, restaurants and services. All subscribers have to do is register for the Platinum Rewards program.
And here’s how you do it:
1. Go to your newspaper’s website.
2. Find the Platinum Rewards button on the site and click on it.
3. When you come to the registration page, enter your email address and fill in the required information on the next pop-up screen. And please remember to you use the same phone number that is registered with your newspaper subscription account.
4. Once you’re registered, explore the Plantinum Rewards site and find personalized coupons for your favorite local stores.
5. Users can either present the discounts on their mobile device at their favorite stores, or they can print out the coupons and bring them into the stores.
Holland said there already is more than 50 local businesses participating in the program, and these discounts will only be available to subscribers of The Forum and other Forum Communications newspapers.
“Essentially, this is a VIP coupon program,” Ouren said, “a coupon program especially for our ‘very important’ subscribers.”
In addition to the spcecial discounts, Ouren said, as the rewards program grows, members will receive access to special contests and promotional giveaways, such as concerts or other events.
“The program is simple,” Holland said. “Stay a subscriber and continue to save on local products and services you value and use the most.”
Non-subscribers also can register for a free trial of the Platinum Rewards program. If they like the program, and want to keep the benefits, they can contact their newspaper to start a subscription and enjoy the rewards program savings all the time.
Subscribers at other FCC newspapers mentioned above can contact their local newspaper for more information.
